![]() ![]() ![]() We needed this many beds because we had 8 people total. The room we got was a connecting room that opens up. I felt the extra cost at the safari and outdoor activities was too much considering the extra cost of the actual resort. That is the reason I didn't give this resort a excellent rating. If you wanted a picture, they wanted you to pay for it. They also were very blunt in that area when one of my kids tried to take a picture of the handler holding the tiger that no pictures were allowed. considering I had 8 people, there charge extra for more people in the picture. turns out, a picture cost somewhere between $80-$150, and that was only for 2 people in the picture. so myself and the kids took off, we were all very excited to get to get a picture and pet the tiger. At one point one of the workers in the safari told us that we could go pet a baby tiger in the main lobby of the resort. and Every attraction in the safari of holding a snake, touching an eel, feeding the animals, feeding the giraffe. Also, the safari was quite smaller than what I expected. The one major detraction I would say I felt was after spending the amount of money I spent getting into the facility and the room cost, I was surprised to have to pay for the activities as well as entrance into the safari. Kids also really enjoyed the safari/petting zoo. They also have 2 of the surfing pools! I never tried it, mainly because everyone else I saw around my age try, didn't do too well. none of the attractions seemed too crowded. Fortunately too, the place is so big and huge outdoor pool too with 2 large hot tubs. fortunately we stayed a couple of days and made sure to get into the waterpark as early as we could so we could walk on some of the slides that get packed later in the day. ![]() There was so many different waterslides to ride, that you possibly couldn't ride them all in 1 day depending on the number of people there and the lines. the pictures don't even begin to show the sheer size of this place. Some advertising companies do a good job of making places look larger than they are in pictures, but with regard to Kalahari in Sandusky. I have visited Great Wolf Lodge in Cincinnati before but this place absolutely dwarfs GWL. I took my family (wife and 6 kids) as part of a connecting vacation with Cedar Point in August of 2015. ![]()
